Help
Help is never more than a click away: on the ribbon's Help tab, and in the footer of every page.
The Help tab
The Help tab is always the ribbon's last tab:
| Command | Opens |
|---|---|
| Help for this page | The chapter of this documentation that describes the page you are on. See Help for this page. |
| Documentation | This documentation, at its start. |
| Academy | The Nidaros Academy. |
| Helpdesk | The Nidaros Helpdesk, to ask a question or report a problem. |
Each opens in a new browser tab, so the page you were on stays open.
The footer at the bottom of every page has the Documentation, Academy and Helpdesk links too, next to the links to the Nidaros website and the other Nidaros products.
Help for this page
Help for this page opens the page's own chapter in Part III: Page reference, with its purpose, its commands and its drawers and dialogs.
- On a page with tabs, it opens the chapter at the tab you are on. On a process's Variables tab, for example, it opens the section about that tab.
- A page described in part of a chapter, such as a dashboard's editor, opens at that part.
- The few pages the reference doesn't describe, such as the pages that only send you on to another, have no Help for this page.
Like Documentation, it opens the documentation of the version of Spider you are using, so what you read matches the page you see.
This documentation
This documentation is written for the version of Spider it came with. Each release of Spider has its own edition, and the version selector at the top of these pages switches to another one, on the same page. Use the version of your Spider.
It has two guides. The User guide, which you are reading, is in four parts:
- Part I: Getting started, this part, shows you around.
- Part II: Building processes explains how to build, run and follow a process.
- Part III: Page reference describes every page, with its commands.
- The reference appendix lists the statuses, the validation rules and the expression functions.
The Developer guide is for developers who connect other systems to Spider through its API.
When you need more help
Ask a colleague who knows Spider, or your organization's administrator, first: many questions are about your own organization's processes and permissions. For anything else, contact the Helpdesk.
When you report a problem, send the link to the page it happened on (Copy link), what you did, and what Spider showed. A run's reference, such as 20261022.0001, helps too.
